The Adoption Process

STEP 1

If after consideration you still feel you are the kind of owners we need, a visit to the Sanctuary will enable you to see these dogs in a home environment and witness their behaviour. You will see the many sizes and colours, however TEMPERAMENT IS THE NUMBER 1 PRIORITY. Any questions or issues can be raised and discussed.

STEP 2

During your visit you will be given literature containing as much information as you will need. We recommend that you go home and read this throughly and if you still wish to proceed with adoption then contact us again.

STEP 3

A choice of both male and female dogs will be given to you, selected on temperament. If you have more specific requirements i.e., cat friendly, or a particular colour, the process may take a little longer. Generally the whole procedure will take approximately 2-3 weeks. If you view a dog on the website of one of our 65 branches throughout the U.K., we would be only too pleased to enquire as to its suitability.......WE CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THE PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE OF TEMPERAMENT.

STEP 4

A member of Greyhound Rescue will accompany the dog back from the U.K., having administered a worm and flea treatment before arrival. We ask that you collect your dog from the Sanctuary in order to complete adoption forms and your 6 weeks free insurance with Pet Plan. Your dog will have been neutered and vaccinations will be up-to-date. We will also supply you with a collar, lead, muzzle, winter coat and mac.

WE ARE AVAILABLE AT ANY TIME SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS
