GUMP GETS TO MEET HIS AUSSIE SPONSOR

A few years ago at one of our Open Days we met a lady called Genny Silvester who subsequently became a good friend and supporter of our charity. Jayne, Genny's daughter lives in Australia and whilst visiting her mum we met and became good friends with her also. Both had met Arrie and decided that he would become their chosen sponsor dog but back in September we lost Arrie to old age and he was to join his pals on Rainbow Bridge. Jayne happened to be looking on our Sponsor Page back in Oz and who should jump out at her but Gump who was to become the new man in her life - sorry Murray!!!

Jayne with the magnificant Gump

Back visiting her mum in October Gump was to meet his Aussie admirer and Jayne who was pleased to see him standing up, knowing full well he is usually in a horizontal position.

A favourite pose for Gump - not dissimilar to Jayne's previous sponsor dog Arrie who also spent a lot of time taking up most of the bed!!

Gump is not the only Sanctuary dog to have a 'down under' admirer - Pola Bear one of our 'gals' is lucky enough to have found favour with the O'Neil family and Jayne was under strict instructions from Sharon to have a photo of Pola taken for them all to see.

Jayne will be making a short visit back to the Island in December to spend Christmas with her mum so lucky old Gump gets to see her again hopefully he will be upright!!

Our sponsors play a huge role in our Charity and although most are in the Island we have them as far a field as Australia, Germany and the U.K. We can only once again say a big thank you to you all as with your support we can in turn help other greyhounds not as lucky as our own. This is especially relevant in the winter months when so many of the kennels are unheated and the weather is bitter.
