ALISON RETURNS WITH
A MIXED BOX OF TRICKS

Alison with her new
foster girl Zoe and Donna with the new
man in her life Toggle and his partner in
crime the wonderful Wispa
Not the best day to
be travelling on the ferry but Alison was
on yet another of her missions for her
charity Sighthound Rescue and as she was
in the vicinity was able to pick up
Toggle an 11 year old greyhound from Sue
at Basildon RGT, who had been returned as
he was being left for far too long
periods. Toggle is to make his bed with
Donna and her four lurchers, he will
hopefully spend a sedate life with Wispa,
who at the same age, needed a companion
with wonky legs not dis-similar to his
own. Her other three youngsters Kizzy,
Ludo and Woozle can now travel at a
faster pace when they are out.
We all knew Alison
couldn't resist 'an extra' seeing she had
the room so whilst collecting Kasey the
two year old female Lurcher from
Greyhound Rescue Shropshire & Borders
she enquired about any older residents
that might be looking for a sofa. So Zoe
the elderly, once black, now greying
greyhound bitch returned with Kasey to
join the Glen Rest crew. Both will be
fostered and assessed pending finding
special permanent homes.

Kasey the lurchers
days in a kennel end here
So despite dreadful
winds everyone arrived back safe and
sound.
Firstly our thanks
go to Alison for braving the motorways,
sleeping rough in her van, freezing to
death and eventually rocking about on the
ferry all to get these guys back safe and
sound - these winter months make it very
difficult to fetch dogs, roll on Spring.
Also our thanks to
Nigel who does the transport for the RGT
who met up with Alison at 8 on Thursday
morning to hand over Toggle. To Sue at
Basildon RGT who has cared for him since
his return. To Sue Tipton at Shropshire
and Borders for caring for the 'old gal'
Zoe and for youngster Kasey and
especially to Condor for actually
sailing, we really were doubtful about
that.
So 3 greyhounds
have graced our shores this year and we
are so thrilled that two of them are
oldies perhaps we will see this trend
continue - we do hope so.
