CLARKS FARM GREYHOUND RESCUE

Sandra and Steve Cobb bought Clarks Farm in 1999, it was a derelict and run down property with a tumble down barn and old cow shed as its only buildings. Steve was known to sleep in an old chicken shed during the early days. Their intention from day one was to open a greyhound rescue, but it took several years of battles with planning before things could really start in 2003.

Since then, Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue has come on in leaps and bounds from homing around 20 dogs in 2003 to over 260 in 2006. This is entirely due to the hard work, dedication and commitment of Steve and Sandra.

Please take the time to visit their website where you will find valuable information, dogs they have available to come to Jersey, plus they host an online forum where you can communicate with like-minded greyhound crazy humans!

Also visit Clarks Farm on GREYHOUND DATA.

We have homed 5 Clarks Farm dogs, 2 in Jersey and 2 in Guernsey. Each dog was collected and delivered personally by Malcolm. Those lucky dogs were:

Little Prodigy

Ben - a handsome brindle male.

Born on August 1997.

Arrived in Guernsey October 2006.

So tragically taken at the end of January 2007 with bone cancer an awful shock both of Sheila his owner and all at Greyhound Rescue.

Xamax Peanut

Peanut - medium black male

Born August 2003.

Arrived in Jersey October 2006, a travelling companion for Ben.

Peanut loves the company of other dogs so we homed him with Sally the cross collie and Murphy the cross labrador. We believe all is well and they share the same sleeping arrangements!!!

Rookley Flyer

Enrie - large black male

Born August 2004.

Arrived in Jersey February 2007.

Living in St Helier and on the sofa within an hour of arriving. This dog has the craziest ears we have ever seen - it seems very apt that his name is Flyer.

Ticram Typhoon

Joe - a white and black male.

Born 21st October 2001

Arrived in Guernsey February 2007

Living in Guernsey with Sheila and her 17 year old cat. We are so pleased that Joe is in a safe warm home being well looked after.

Run for Blue

Blue - small black male

Born 17th June 2004

Arrived in Jersey March 2007

A very polite pooch who is finding inside very strange. At the moment enjoys the freedom of the garden. Follows his mum Emma around everywhere - and took to his first walk on the beach today with dad Jason and human sisters Lilly and Anna.

Without the help and advice of Steve and Sandra and their first hand knowledge of the dogs in their care it would be so much harder for us to assess the dogs suitability for a prospective family and for this we are extremely grateful.
