DAN THE MAN IN HIS BIG WHITE VAN

Danny to the rescue

I am very excited about the fact that Danny will hate me for putting his picture on the site but frankly 'I don't give a damm'. He so hates his photos being taken so he will curse the day I learnt how to use the computer!!

Anyway down to business!

Laddie a lovely 9 1/2 year old boy desperately needed a home having been in one for a few years and now finding himself back in kennels. Thankfully he went into foster but he still was in need of that forever sofa and lots of love. Only problem was, although we had a home for him with Sally who had recently lost Ranger, he was up in wild and woolly Northumberland

Mal at Gloucester Airport with Laddie, Henry and Jack

To the rescue 'our man with a van' Dan. As many of you know Danny and Trish left the Island a couple of months ago to start a new life in Newcastle where Trish was originally from. Luck would have it that Laddie was fostered just up the road from where they are now living and Danny offered to drive Laddie down to Gloucester where Mal was going to pick up Jack from Pat at Hall Green, a cat friendly (fingers crossed!!!) who is going to live in Guernsey with Sophie and Martin, Maisie, Lucy the girls and Cinderella and Ernie the cats. So with everything in place it was down to the weather, and guess what, although very grey cloudy skies, our 'man with a plane' Chris, was able to get us there and back.

Jack looking a little worried about is all - everything so new

Jack meets his new family, Sophie, Martin (who I do promise you has a head!) and Lucy

Laddie has a sniff around his new home before lying on one of his THREE beds

We are so pleased to have got two more homes before the end of what can only be described as one of our worst homing years since we started 15 years ago. The total number of homes this year is a mere 12 under half our normal amount. Still better than nothing and we can just hope that next year will pick up.

It only goes now for us to thank Danny for driving all that way to help us out, Diane Gibbinson of Northumberland R.G.T.,for keeping us up-to-date on Laddie, another lady called Diane for fostering Laddie, Pat for bringing Jack to us and Chris for our safe trip.
