THESE EASTER SURPRISES WON'T INCREASE THE WAIST LINE

We say a big welcome to Lewis, Chump, and Sally the greyhounds and Wilf an unwanted 9 year old lurcher.

Alison hit the high seas last week and true to form did not come back empty handed, Lewis the 5 year old blue and white greyhound and poor old Wilf hitched a lift back.

Lewis stretches his legs and Wilf meets his new owner - face look familiar yep it's Donna just rounding up her numbers !!!!!

Mal had been waiting all week for his trip to fetch Chump and Sally and having been cancelled on Wednesday thankfully he was able to get away on Saturday and was back just when the really heavy rain started.

Chump, a white and black 2 year old, has come to live with Emily, Ross and their family at St. Lawrence.

Chump meets Kentee upon his arrival at Jersey airport

A while ago we did a special appeal for a 10 year old bitch called Sally whose owner was very ill and had to go into hospice. Coupled with our feature 'oldies' Trevor got in touch and wanted to take little Sally on. We are so thrilled that Sally now becomes the third oldie to be homed in Jersey this year.

Our thanks to Sue for bringing both dogs to the airport, also lovely to see you Ian. It goes without saying that Chris came up trumps, or is that Chumps, for us once again.

SINCE WRITING THIS ARTICLE WE ARE DEVASTATED TO TELL YOU THAT ON MONDAY APRIL 5TH JUST FOUR DAYS AFTER HIS ARRIVAL DONNA HAD TO LET WILF GO. SHE HAD DISCOVERED A LUMP ON HIS NOSE ON FRIDAY AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A MALIGNANT TUMOUR WHICH HAD PUSHED ITS WAY THROUGH THE BONE. IT ALSO LOOKED LIKE THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SECONDARY TUMOURS. THIS WAS AS A RESULT OF TOTAL NEGLECT, THIS POOR BOY HAD WORKED ALL HIS LIFE AND LIVED OUTSIDE. IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT NO CARE WHATSOEVER HAD BEEN TAKEN TO ENSURE HE WAS HEALTHY. DONNA PROMISED HIM HE WOULD SEE THE BEACH SO BEFORE HE LEFT US HE HAD THAT LUXURY. OUR HEARTS GO OUT TO DONNA, BUT OUR THANKS THAT SHE GAVE HIM FOUR HAPPY DAYS WHERE HE WAS WARM, HAD A FULL BELLY AND ABOVE ALL WAS LOVED.

GOD BLESS YOU WILF
