WHO SAID BLACK WASN'T BEAUTIFUL !!!

We are always thrilled to home a dog but moreso when he or she is black. Previously on our site we have brought your attention to the fact that black is the most unpopular colour in greyhounds and therefore the hardest to home. These dogs are referred to as 'bin liners' - easily disposed of.

We always find that when they arrive often their coats are dull with a brown tinge to them and their skin sometimes flaky but with the loving care in their new home these dogs become sleak, shiny and beautiful and take a lot of beating.

Fagin

Anyway after three false starts due to bad weather our two latest 'black beauties' are Shadow now to be called Fagin, as James and Klaire had heard that greyhounds tend to be thieves so lets see if 'he picks a pocket or two'!! And Rosie who will also probably have a name change but Jane and Andy and the boys haven't all agreed on one yet. Fagin travelled all the way down from Northumberland RGT to join Rosie for a sleep over at Hall Green RGT. The sleep over turned into a weeks holiday but apparently he was very popular with them all at the kennels.

Rosie

So after a bit of a wait Rosie now joins her new mum and dad Jane and Andy and her two two legged brothers Jack and Tristan, not forgetting Spike the Huskie cross now in his mature years and quite looking forward to a 'toy girl' to keep him young.

Fagin, well he has a lot of girl power to look forward to, together with mum and dad Klaire and James, he will now have three sisters, Sadie, Scarlet and Sancia not forgetting George the posh Persian cat.

Good luck to both families and it goes without saying many thanks to Nigel for yet another pick up, for Dave at Northumberland RGT for finding us Fagin (aka Shadow) to Pat Chan at Hall Green for choosing Rosie to join us all in Jersey and for giving Fagin a roof over his head for the last week, and to Chris our pilot who despite being given a big love by Dotty last week which resulted in a scratch on the lip still agrees to fly us back and forward to collect these dogs.

So we welcome all our January homings that's Rufus in Guernsey, and Rocky, Blue, Fagin and Rosie all in Jersey this is a really good start to 2009 - no more cold kennels and sore feet for these guys!!!
