Update on the 8 plus 1!

After a really magnificant homing start to the year we are pleased to report that all seem to have settled in their new homes and are giving their owners no end of pleasure.

Helen and Phil, can now have those long walks again with Casper after the awful loss of Basil their greyhound just before Christmas at the grand age of 15.

Casper making the most of retirement.

Cleo who is really still a puppy at just 19 months old gives no end of pleasure to Wayne, Sandra and their little lad Kyle who can't wait to get back from school and play with his new friend.

Peppi now Dax shares the sofa with Jen's lurcher Sandy and is such a gentleman.

Maisie - Maisie is doing really well, she was a little shy and is taking a bit longer to trust but an update today (Sunday 10th Feb) informs us that she has turned the corner and coming out of herself.  At a dinner party given by her mum and dad, Michelle and Keith, she even managed to charm a guest who isn't a doggy person - well done Maisie!!!

Smartie, well what can we say, Jehanne reckons it's like they have always had him - his tail never stops wagging and Jehanne, Roger and Frances can't believe what a character he is turning into.  Long queues of family and friends are periodically arriving to view the famous 'Smartie'.

Then we have the new sanctuary girl Dilly.  Bless her she is no trouble at all has just slotted in.  She is like our Paris in a lot of ways and at 13 spends a lot of time just laying in a sunbeam snoozing, but equally enjoys a little walk on the beach.  She is not the best eater in the world so we are attempting to discover what suits her palate - hopefully not caviar!!!!!!  Her little world has been turned upside down since found lying beside her owner who had died on Christmas Day, she then went into foster and now she has come to live with us.

Next week, weather permitting, will see the arrival in Guernsey of Sammy.  Poor Sammy is not the Hollywood version of a greyhound but we know Tracey and Chris will love him to bits and he is a very lucky pooch who will be sharing food bowls with Anna the red setter and Ellie and Retriever.

Anna and Ellie chilling out waiting for their new brother.

Keep logging on for news of Sammy's arrival. Here's a little teaser - not the clearest of photos but we'll soon have some larger close ups!
