HORSING

The
West show takes place in the Island every
two years and since Greyhound Rescue
first set up we have been participating.
Saturday and Sunday saw our sixth
appearance and we have to admit this must
have been the best ever. The sun shone,
the public turned up in their thousands,
and it was such a pleasure not to be
rained off or to spend the whole day
chasing our literature and picking up our
boards.
The
highlight of our day just had to be
watching the Rockin' Horse Equestrian
Stunt Team a group of four riders, and
starring a guy called Guido. What he
couldn't do on the back of a horse, or
indeed under, over or above a horse was
not worth knowing. His wife Sophia, Zana
and Daniel made up the rest of this
amazing troup and their skills on these
beautiful horses entertained the crowds
all day.
Guido
paid us a visit and indeed was a
greyhound owner but had sadly lost his
dog to an accident not so long ago. We
asked if 'the gang' could come and have a
photo with them and the horses and indeed
Karl the guy on stilts who introduced the
show. Below are shots of this amazing
team.

Sophia,
Karl, Daniel and Guido joined by Alison,
myself and the gang Fonz, Malarky, Harlea
and O.B.

Guido's
wife Sophia and her horse take a bow for
us.

Will
our legs ever be as long as yours!!!!!
Throughout
the two days people flocked to the
various events and we all had to agree
that this was the most spectacular West
Show yet. Here are some more of our
favourite shots from the show:

Fonz
shares a tit bit with his new friend
Frank and Frank's owner Robyn.

Ruby,
O.B. and Malarky find a new mode of
transport with the unicycle expert.

Now
they all want to run away and join the
circus!!

By
the end of the day Fonz, OB, Harlea and
Malarky had all changed their minds, they
didn't want to join the circus afterall.
Instead they wanted to become fire dogs
and happily stood with their new
colleagues Matthew and Lee.

Spot
the odd one out!!!!!!!
