Our tribute to
Rooster
RACING NAME: VILLA MICK
SEPTEMBER 1999 TO 24TH
JANUARY 2008

Rooster
was never going to be a champion racer,
he ran his 87 races but only because he
had to, he would far rather
have been sprawled out on a sofa
contemplating his navel. This
is why when he graced our island
shores on the 19th May, 2004, he really
did think all his birthdays had come at
once.
The Buards,
what can we say, Danny, Trish, Jacob and
Matthew, one of the nicest
families you could meet so it only seemed
right and fitting that they should take
on one of the loveliest greyhounds
born. Rooster was a joy, he could
infuriate you but never ceased to make
everyone laugh. He really had it
made, you just couldn't get cross with
him, so for the short life that he had
Rooster lived in the lap of
luxury. He had no manners
whatsoever but that grin of his allowed
him to be forgiven for all his
misdemeanours.
The
news of the loss of Rooster from Danny
reduced all at Greyhound Rescue to tears,
it has been a particularly sad week and
losing Rooster from a suspected stroke
has left all that knew him truely
devastated. We hope that somehow,
as such a close knit family, they will
come to terms with their loss and think
back over the truely great fun and
laughter he gave to them all.
Grab
that big sofa in the sky Rooster.

We
have received this photo from Danny -
it's a family favourite. When the time is
right Danny will pay his family's own
tribute. In the meantime our thoughts are
with you all.
