JOHN UPHOFF
1961 - 2008
Today I attended the
funeral of John Uphoff presenter and
somewhat colourful character on Radio
Jersey.
I only ever encountered
John twice he was the first person to
interview me on radio in connection with
our charity and secondly at the West Show
six years ago.
Mal and I had no idea of
the impact our greyhounds must have made
upon him until John took seriously ill
and passed away. We were to be told that
our charity was one of three to which he
wished donations made.
We would firstly like to
extend our deepest sympathy to Mrs.
Uphoff and secondly thank all members of
the public who have donated money to our
cause, most of them never having met John
but felt they knew him just from waking
up with him in the mornings (well not
literally but you know what I mean!!).
There are people who find
their way into your lives even though you
don't know them or indeed have never met
them and it seems that John was one such
person.
So once again we
sincerely thank you John for loving dogs
and supporting us.
