LOOK WHAT THE WIND BLEW IN!

We were beginning to think that these three pooches wouldn't arrive this side of Christmas as the dreadful weather has prevented us from going over to pick them up. Thanks to our trusted pilot Chris going for it today, we are thrilled, and equally relieved, to introduce you to, Ashley, Gus and Woody.

Ashley, the black and white boy, is joining Lyn and Carl's household and hopefully will be great friends with Freddie the kitten and the girls Jessica, Ayla and Jolene. Cat friendly greyhounds can be found but the introductions must be made carefully and the situation monitored until the family is sure that the dog and cat are fine together. Also it should be noted that whilst your dog may be fine with his own cat he might not be so with another cat. Anyway Lyn and Carl have been suitably preped and we hope all will be well.

Meet Ashley yet another Hall Green dog

Our second dog is Tufty's Billy, who joins the household of Gemma and Aidan. With no other animals to 'cramp his style' we hope he will settle well. Tufty now to be known as Gus was yet another greyhound who thought that racing was 'a mugs game' in fact even after being sent to a school to teach him to chase his trainer said he could have got round the track faster.

Gus feeling a little bit confused, it's been a busy day for him

And finally .............

It's Christmas special time again, meet Woody our 12 year old brindle boy. Having been in a home he was then dumped in a paddock a few weeks ago no longer wanted. Most of you will know that Mal and I and Alison are suckers for the oldies and when they have been in a home and then have to return to kennels it just seems so cruel. Anyway Woody joins the gang at the Sanctuary and will see his days out a much loved member of our family.

Woody just his eyes give away his age

Woody relaxes in the van after quite a stressful day for an old man

So finally our mission is complete. Thanks once again to Pat Chan at Hall Green for Ashley and to Alison Bandurak of RGT Wolverhampton who found us Gus and Woody and to Craig for bringing them down to the airport having had a shampoo and set. To the amazing Chris who despite, the rain and gale force winds managed to get Mal and the dogs back safe and sound.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT WE HAVE A BACKLOG, WE HAVE ANOTHER TWO DOGS AWAITING THEIR ARRIVAL TO OUR WINDSWEPT ISLAND. WATCH THIS SPACE FOR THEIR APPEARANCE.
