RAIN DROPS
KEEP FALLING AT THE FOIRE...
Saturday was deja-vu
at the Foire and our fear was it would be
the same for the following two days of
the event. With torrential rain by
lunch time we just had to pack it in and
it brought back dreadful memories of last
year when we had to abandon the event
having only been able to attend
for half of the three days. But
fortunately the weather did come good.

Sunday was glorious
and the showground was packed. It
was our big day, or should I say Steven's
big day the scalping of two years growth
of hair. We placed him in the
middle of the showground and at 2.30pm
the removal of Steven's locks
began. Samantha his sister and
thankfully a qualified hairdresser, took
hold of the pony tail and began to
cut. The next move was to cut with
scissors before the clippers were
introduced leaving our sponsor not quite
bald but not far off. After 25
minutes the deed was done much to the
appreciation of the crowds who cheered
wholeheartedly.

Steven BEFORE...

Steven AFTER!
We would like to take this opportunity of
thanking Stevens so much for choosing our
charity to sponsor and for all that
contributed to our cause.
Monday saw us wake up to rain and black
clouds. Nevertheless we went up to
the Showground and sat in the van
contemplating whether it was worth
opening. There was thick fog and
heavy drizzle and it really did look
grim. However, at about 10.30 -
11.00 the wind blew up and it cleared but
now the debate was as to whether any of
our equipment, boards, tombola would
stand up to the gusts of wind. It
was a split decision and we decided to go
for it and thankfully it was the right
move as although we could only have a
couple of boards on display due to the
wind it turned out to be another good
day. O.B. and Ruby made their debut
appearances and proved to be very popular
with the crowd. Fonz, Malarky and
Harlea took it all in their stride - they
are becoming old hands at this event
business. Tootsie however decided
that one day was enough for her I mean a
girl needs her beauty sleep, so she left
Harlea take the limelight on
Monday. So after a horrendous start
all went well at the Foire, and we hope
to see you all again next year - weather
permitting!!!!!!!!
Our Hula Hoop competition went off well -
this was a new event and we will be
having it again at the West Show on the
12th-13th July - but more about that at a
later date.
The winner of our event was Marie Le
Chevalier who won the MP3, who is
visiting the Sanctuary on Wednesday 28th
May to meet the gang and collect her
prize.
