We are so so
saddened by the passing of our wonderful
old boy Littlewoods - at nearly 13 years
old he used to run in the field and was
the picture of health until Monday night
when he was sick. By the morning his
breathing was dreadful and we took him
straight to the vets. It seemed likely
that he had an awful gut infection and
pneumonia and was put straight on a drip
and multiple anti biotics. We brought him
home that night but he was sick and
brought up blood. He went back on the
drip on Wednesday morning but
deteriorated during the day and Peter,
our vet ,then thought it was probably a
blood clot which was working it's way
round his body and destroying his vital
organs.
This was tragic as,
even though he was an oldie, he was in
such incredible condition and never
showed any signs of illness, it is just
so unfair. We know that with the amount
of dogs we have this will happen more
frequently than someone with just a
couple of dogs but the upset lingers even
though we try to be brave.
We are so pleased
that we rescued him in November last year
and made his life comfortable and happy
and we will always have such fond
memories of our boy.
