A
TRIBUTE TO OUR WONDERFUL MALARKY

02.08.2001 -
10.12.2011
Today (Saturday
10th December 2011) at 9.05am we laid our
magnificant boy to rest. He has cancer of
the tongue and saliva glands and there
was no coming back from it. People ask if
we have a favourite and I always say we
haven't but that doesn't mean some arn't
very very special and one of those was
Malarky fondly known as 'Larky',
Originally homed in
Guernsey in March 2006 he returned to
live at the Sanctuary in 2007 after a
marriage break up. From the day he
arrived he was nothing but a pleasure to
own. Affectionate but never demanding he
delighted not only us but all his public
which he entertained at fetes, kids
assemblies, brownies, scouts, W.I. Our
boy gave his all to the charity, as a
blood donor he saved a few doggy lives,
as a PAT dog originally at Clifton
Nursing Home and more recently at Silvers
Springs, he was such a favourite and not
having attended for the last few weeks he
has been so missed and it will be so hard
to tell the residents there that he has
gone. He appeared on the telly, even
attended radio broadcasts (mind you
didn't say much!) he made the paper and
had a recipe in A La Bark Baking Book
named after him, Malarky's Minty
Mouthfuls. He was an ambassador to the
Greyhound World and we desperately mourn
his passing.
As mentor to Gump
and Ziggy we hope that they will be able
to represent him at all the above and be
as popular as our brindle boy always was.

Larky with his pal
Fonz in their capacity as PAT dogs and a
wonderful portrait of him done by Cate
Hamilton so pleased we have this

Rest in peace our
beautiful boy xxxxxxx
