THANKFULLY RAIN
DIDN'T STOP PLAY!

Lisa seen here with
Lewis, Fonz, Gump and Ziggy
Neither rain, nor
the long arm of the law could stop our
largest event of the year going ahead.
Yep we did have some rain and
unfortunately had to finish early on
Saturday but apart from a couple of heavy
showers on Monday and Tuesday we managed
to keep going and complete our six days
(we get Sunday off for good behaviour!!!)
The wonderful thing
about Charity Week is we get to see
visitors to the Island who come back year
after year and always come and see us and
one such person is Steve who has his
annual break in Jersey from Brighton.

Steve seen here with Fern
(who made her debut this year) and
Alison's Lewis
From Wednesday
onwards the weather was extremely kind to
us, in fact Thursday and Friday were
glorious. Unfortunately Malarky has a bad
back and was unable to attend. He did
come on the Saturday but his back wasn't
good so he had to stay at home. I must
say he was very much missed and people
were asking after him.
So making their
debuts this year were Fern and little
Trin, nice to have a bit of girl power
for a change. They coped really well so
they will probably come to a few more
functions.

Fonz, Gump and 'new
gal' Trin survey their adoring public
There are always
weirdly dressed people parading up and
down and this year was no exception when
two 'ladies of the lamp' appeared and had
a photo taken with the guys.

Also paying us a
visit were friends from near Wisbech.
Ronnie and Brian used to live next door
to Mal many many and even more many years
ago. They holiday here quite regularly
and just love the guys. Ronnie's sister
back in Wisbech has 3 greyhounds so they
are no strangers to the breed.

Gump uses Ronnie as
a leaning post whilst little Trin held by
Brian peeps out from under the Fonz
But, as we all
know, these events always attract the
children and lets face it they are our
next generation and need to be educated
as to the cruelty involved with greyhound
racing. Why greyhounds are always so
delightful with kids, who knows, not as
if they have ever had them in their
lives, they really only know cold kennels
and other greyhounds, but here we have
two delightful photos, firstly

AND

Megan (Donna's
grand-daughter) charms Gump
So our longest
event of the year comes to a close and it
only remains to say a big thank-you to
everyone who supported us and bought
Christmas Cards, did I say that word!!!!!
Hopefully we will be back again next year
and look forward to seeing everyone
again, we will all be a year older and a
little slower but we will be there.

Job done!
