SADNESS
AT THE SANCTUARY
HAWK
APRIL 2005 - 28TH
AUGUST 2010

Losing any of our
dogs is so tragic but none moreso than
our lovely youngster Hawk who, at the age
of 5, just died. One minute he was in the
garden playing ball, the next he was laid
in front of the patio door and had passed
away. We will never know what happened
but we do know coming to terms with it
was just awful, he was such a playful boy
always in your face. We miss those
wonderful ears and the fun and laughter
he gave us.

1 DECEMBER 2001 -
11TH OCTOBER 2010

O.B., was a big
strong dog and when he developed a limp
on his back leg we were dreading the
diagnosis and when bone cancer was
confirmed we just didn't know what course
to take. We have never amputated before
but as the pain was not under control we
made the decision and had his back leg
removed. He recovered remarkably and his
balance was amazing and he enjoyed his
time in the field and managed very well.
Seven weeks and four days down the line
his breathing became laden and an xray
revealed the cancer had spread to his
heart and lungs. There was no coming back
and we let him go at 4.30pm on Wednesday
the 11th October, - he would have been 9
in December.
O.B. was a fun
loving boy, he chased about on the beach
and for a big lad was really quite
graceful. He attended school assemblies,
did fetes and was a credit to his breed.
We might have a
house full of dogs but there is always a
void when one passes away. One less
dinner to make, one empty bed, a space in
the van, to us there is such sadness and
if anything it gets worse and not better
when we lose one of our gang.
Every year we hope
we might have a break from this emotion
but it is not to be, maybe next year.
HAWK, O.B., SAY HI
TO ALL OUR LOVELY GALS AND BOYS ON
RAINBOW BRIDGE YOU WILL ALWAYS BE WITH
US. XXX
