ST.
MARY'S FAMILY FETE
Having been lucky
with the weather for all our events so
far this year, we knew it had to end at
some time. Saturday morning saw rain
first thing with drizzle and heavier rain
forecast later in the day. We take a
gamble everytime we have a fete or
suchlike to attend so off we went on
Saturday morning to set up for the
opening at 11.00am.

Tina holding Magic
and Silks, Rose with Zara, Lord Claude
and Ruby, Eve with Ozzie, Mal with O.B.
and Rio and Michael with Fonz, Cara in
the corner
Once again our
trailer looked magnificant and we had
lots of good comments about it.
Unfortunately we had been allocated a
pitch next to quite a few animals the
baby cows, donkey and sheep were fine but
alas the bunnies did pose a slight
problem!!! O.B. and Zara (Rose's little
bitch) were fixated for most of the day,
in fact O.B., who has usually crashed out
about half an hour into any event, never
lay down and attempts to turn him round
to face away from the rabbits proved
futile. Rio, Ruby and Silks made an
appearance and it was lovely to see Rio
with the gang as he has now been retired
from events and indeed as a P.A.T., dog
due to his epilepsy. Silks stayed for the
day but Ruby and Rio went home about
1ish.

Don't ask! -
Somehow Casper managed to back on to Zara
much to the amusement of Rose and Helen
their owners
Apart from the
'bunnies' things went smoothly and once
again many of our owners turned up with
their greyhounds - Magic and Zorro were
newcomers to this 'awareness thing' and
seemed to enjoy themselves. There was a
hic-cup with drizzle about two and it was
all hands to the pump to put the gear
away into the trailer to keep it dry -
when it passed we took it all out again.
Sadly the next spell of rain was
seriously heavy and we had to call it a
day. This was another new event and we
thoroughly enjoyed taking part.

'Wimps' Casper with
mum Helen and Dev with dad Glenn take
refuge from the crowds!
This year has been
very different in that the Foire de
Jersey did not take place and the West
Show is only bi-annual so we have been
lucky enough to have been invited to take
part in some different events.

Michael seen here
with Malarky (if ever a lad wanted a dog)
one day hopefully!!
We would like to
take this opportunity of thanking St.
Mary's school and Tina of Kid's Club for
inviting us to take part. To Michael and
James for giving the dogs a walk, our
friend Hilary who has given us a hand
many times this year - to Helen, Rose,
Glenn and Mandy, who always turn up to
support us.
This week the
weather looks pretty unsettled but
hopefully it will cheer up for our next
appearance, an awareness day in the car
park next to St. Peter's Parish Hall.
Hope to see you there.
