THIRD
TIME LUCKY!

Well today
saw the arrival of Max, now to be known
as Flax, a fantastic addition to the
Watkins household. Most of you will know
Nicky who is famous for her card making
for our charity, and also as the owner of
Aristock Catteries, which is why it was
important that Flax be cat friendly.
Even the
most meticulous of plans can come a
cropper and unfortunately Nicky's idea to
have a Deerhound X now and another
greyhound later in the year, didn't work.
After finding two beautiful Deerhound X's
one wouldn't have gone with her gang and
the other she was pipped at the post by
someone else.
She had
secretly had her eye on Flax at
Shropshire and Borders Greyhound Rescue,
a beautiful two year old boy who not only
liked cats but chickens as well, went off
lead (it gets better) has an instant
recall!!! but the 'piece de resistance'
he only sits on command we'll soon change
all that !! (joke). So the Deerhound goes
on hold until later in the year and we
welcome Flax to our shores.

Flax doing
what greyhounds don't do - sitting!!
With
sunshine but a bitterly cold wind Flax
made his journey from Shropshire having
been brought to the airport by Sue and
Malcolm who run Shropshire and Borders
RGT and Julie and Keith who we met last
year when they came to Jersey. If truth
be known I think they were all in party
mode as when I was on the phone checking
all was well there was a great deal of
laughing going on. We hope that someone
out there might like to give his brother
Fred and sister Sadie a home. They have
always been together so it would be
lovely if they could stay with each
other.

A happy
smiley boy arrives in Jersey
True to
form Chris got Mal and Flax home safely
and we thank Sue and all the gang at
Shropshire for letting Flax come to Nicky
here in Jersey where tomorrow he will
meet some of the gang
