TOWNIES
FOR THE DAY

Some of our owners and dogs
that joined us in the Royal Square for
Animal Day
Glorious weather
for our annual trip to town for Animal
Day in fact probably too nice a weather
as we were not as busy as usual. Missing
this year were Danny and Trish who have
now moved to the U.K. very very strange
without them they are sorely missed as
they have been a large part of the
charity for many years.
It's an early get
up for this event 4.30am to be exact
(yawn yawn!) reason being that we can't
set up the day before so the trailer has
to go down in the morning, plus the dogs
have to be walked as usual, lot gets done
in the dark!!
Hilary who has been
with us for the past few years came in
with me to set up and stayed all day and
also Gemma (Gus's mum) came along to
learn the ropes - all of us are of the
shorter variety but we managed to get the
trailer open and everything out on
display. We seemed to have a lot of
people on both our adult tombola and the
kids one and of course the childrens
lucky dip is always a favourite. Alison
says I will never make money as I put too
much in. Alison was on an early shift but
came after she had finished. It was
lovely to see so many of our owners with
their pooches,Gus, Cent, Hank, Rooney,
Lord Claude, Zara, Rosie, Diesel and
little Ollie the whippet, who Alison
homed last year came and joined the gang.

Leslie meets little Ollie
Strange how you see
familiar faces throughout the day, lovely
to catch up on people you haven't seen
since probably last years event. Little
Bethany and her mum and brother turned
up. Bethany came to one of our Open Days
a while back absolutely terrifed of dogs
but hey look at her now!

Bethany and
Ziggy share a moment
The kids
just love coming to meet the dogs and
they are a real credit to us when they
happily lie there having cuddles and
loves with complete strangers.

Mum Hannah
seen here with baby Austin who seems to
think it would be a good idea to take
Fonz's collar off.
Next to
visit the dogs was little Megan, Sam's
baby girl who is very used to dogs as she
is Donna's (with those hairy guys)
grand-daughter.

We would
also like to thank everyone that gave us
a bottle or pressy to include in our
Online Charity Auction which will be in
October, the exact two weeks will be
posted on facebook and our website so
keep your eyes open.
So there
you are another successful event and hey
it didn't rain. We have been so unlucky
with our fetes etc., this year, the
weather has not smiled on us.

Meet the
team - Fonz, Malarky, Gump and Ziggy
It's
fingers crossed for our CHARITY
WEEK IN TOWN
starting SATURDAY
10TH SEPTEMBER through
until FRIDAY
16TH SEPTEMBER. We
can be found in our usual place outside
M&S in Kings Street, I will be the
one supping the magnificant hot chocolate
from the Pottery Shop opposite so come
and see us and of course, Fonz, Malarky,
Gump and Ziggy and maybe little Fern will
put in an appearance.
