MUCH
SADNESS AS WE SAY GOODBYE TO
MR. TURK
TURK (Billets
Crest)
2.4.1997 - 8.7.2009

There is a great empty space
beside my bed where, for the past 8 1/2
years, our beautiful white and brindle
dog, Turk or Mr. Turk as we called him,
had always laid.
He was a complex dog but
always a mummies boy and affectionate
with people. He was the only greyhound I
have ever known that ran in a straight
line and on the beach Mal would let him
off and he would run directly to me but
wouldn't run back again unless I went to
the other end and called him.
He was such a handsome boy
and it was dreadful to see him losing
weight and his back and legs giving him
so much pain. He no longer wanted to go
for walks and had developed a heart
problem. When he stopped eating a couple
of days ago we knew it was time to do him
that final kindness.
Our Turk went to join all
his pals at 10.30am on Wednesday the 8th
July 2009 and we hope that all his pain
has gone and he is catching up with all
his mates especially little Callie who
Alison lost last week.
We never come to
terms with losing any of our dogs but we
know because of the work we do that we
have to accept this but each time part of
our hearts go with them.
