  WHO'S THAT LADY

Who's that lady indeed, not it's not the song made famous by the Isley Brothers in the 60's (upps revealing my age again) this is a little black gal coming to enhance Barry and Jenny's life after the passing of their 15 year old Labrador Ella in January.

Barry and Jenny have always had the one breed and thought it was time for a change. Having met Ella, Ann and David Hocquard's little black girl they decided they would give a home to a retired racer. Well little Lady you will have a hard act to follow as Ella is a greyhound in a million.

We were beginning to think little Lady would never arrive and had we been competing in a running event with three false starts we would have been disqualified as the fog has held us up all week and indeed it was touch and go today. The fog has been like a yo-yo all week. Was maybe even thinking that Mal would have to stay over meaning he would be spending the night with a different 'old dog' but thankfully he managed to get back by 2.

Maisie meets mum Jenny and dad Barry for the first time

Well little Lady, now to be known as Maisie, is a bit of a scruff and will need a suitable amount of TLC to transform this little girl into the 'Black Swan' gosh is that another reference, this time to an award wining movie of the year, but I am sure it can be achieved. There really is nothing more satisfying than to see them a few weeks down the line looking entirely different to when they arrived.

Jenny leads a somewhat anxious Maisie to start her new life

So it only remains for us to once again thank Pat for yet another trip down the motorway, and Chris for making the fog disappear so that this little gal can get a taster of what she has been missing all these years as a racing dog.
